Leah's Foot
We just got back from the doctor's office. The location of the possible break is on a growth plate so they could not determine if it was a strain or a stress fracture. As a precaution, they are treating it as a stress fracture so that she doesn't end up injuring it worse by resuming normal activity. She's in a cloth post-op shoe for the next two weeks to keep it from moving too much and then they will x-ray it again to make sure it is healing well. The funny thing is that, if it is a fracture, it will show up on the x-rays later than sooner. She is thankful not to be in a cast from her knee down but looks forward to taking the shoe off since it makes her walk funny. The pain in her arch is from overcompensating, trying to protect the toe area.
